Dar Darek is a traditional house (riad) located in the heart of the medina of Essaouira, 2 minutes from a guarded parking and 5 minutes walk from the beach. Surrounded by small grocery stores, tailors, a community oven Dar Darek offers a real experience of Moroccan life.
The decoration is both neat and sober. It blends tradition in the choice of materials (tadelakt, thuya wood ceiling and beijmat floor) and modern comfort. All the furniture was made locally by local craftsmen or secondhand at the flea market and renovated by us.
On the ground floor are the patio with its large family table (8 seats), fully equipped kitchen and TV lounge with gas heating for winter evenings.
On the 1st floor and 2nd floor are the bedrooms.
The terrace on the 3rd floor is not overlooked and sheltered from the wind.
On your arrival in Essaouira, our governess, Kamar will come to meet you. She speaks perfect French and a little English. Meeting point 3 minutes walk from the house: Marrakech gate (indicated on the map that we will send you by e-mail). She will be there every morning to clean, prepare and serve you delicious breakfasts and deliver her valuable advice. She will be keen to make your stay unforgettable.
